Lead Dust Testing Services

We proudly offer Lead-Safe Dust Testing Services in the City of Philadelphia, in Yeadon and in East Lansdowne, PA.

Prior to your appointment, please see below for a checklist.  We want to make sure to get an accurate reading of lead dust in our sample. 

Prior to Appointments, please follow the checklist below:

• Please make sure all painted surfaces are free of chipping, cracked or peeling paint.  Please repair any chipped, cracked or peeling paint prior to appointment.
• Clean all window sills, window troughs, and the floors underneath the windows.
• Use a new paper towel to clean each area. Do not use a cloth or sponge, which will only spread dust. 
• Clean all floors with a wet mop.
• Do not use a broom, which can spread lead dust.
• If you choose to vacuum, always use a vacuum with a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter. A HEPA filter can remove very fine particles from air at 99.97% efficiency. Regular household vacuums release small particles of lead into the air, which spreads lead dust around rather than removing it.

At the appointment:

• Your technician will complete the visual inspection.  
• Your technician will swipe each bedroom window sill, each bedroom floor and a common area window and floor.  Studios and 1bdrms get a minimum of 4 samples each. 
• Those samples are sent to a third party EPA certified lab.  

After your appointment:

• You will receive your emailed results within 2 weeks of your scheduled appointment.
